Android Taking Over Wireless Phones
Back in 1982 the film Android was released under the direction of Aaron Lipstadt and starring Klaus Kinski. The film revolved around the story of a scientist and his assistant who are working on an illegal android program from their lab located in a space station that is orbiting the earth. Although the film was voted Best Science Fiction Film in 1983 by The Age, it received somewhat mixed reactions from film critics and fans alike.
Many who spend time looking far away into the future have toyed around the concept of androids taking over humanity with. The first person ever to use the term android was Albertus Magnus in 1270, but it was made really popular by a French writer named Villiers back in 1886. Although some have filed patents in the US with the word "android" included in it, the production of androids has been limited to miniature human like toys. Up until now, androids are a thing of science fiction movies and books, with the exception of a few humanoid robots that are currently in existence.
On November 5, 2007 the whole concept of androids has been totally changed forever. Whereas before an android was meant to be a robot designed to look like a human in both appearance and behavior, some technological geniuses have brought what has remained primarily a concept, into a reality with a different twist.
By their joining of forces, a broad alliance of top technology and wireless companies have developed the first truly open and comprehensive platform for mobile devices. The alliance, which is made up of company giants such as Google Inc., Motorola, HTC, Qualcomm, T-Mobile and many others, put their brain power and financial might together to the develop the mobile platform name Android.
